Baby Shipley | Newborn Session

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of meeting Baby Shipley and her parents, Nicolette and Michael! With a due date in November, Nicolette was so excited when her baby girl arrived just a couple weeks before Christmas, because she was hoping for a Christmas (or December) baby! ;)

Due dates are a funny thing, and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a client who has had her baby ON her actual due date.  I’ve found that if I have 3 newborn sessions scheduled in a month, the babies will usually all be born right around the same time!! Flexibility is the key! ;) I had two clients scheduled for newborn sessions in December, and their due dates were 3 weeks apart, but the babies arrived within a couple of days of each other! :) It was actually perfect, because I got to wrap up my shooting for the year with two precious baby girls just a few days before Christmas! Such a treat!

Baby girl Shipley was such a good little sleeper for us, and we were able to capture some wonderful shots! Newborn sessions are slower paced than a normal session, and I absolutely love it! It gives me a chance to really talk with my clients, and I loved hearing all about Nicolette's pregnancy and Baby E's birth story! Michael is an Army Ranger, and I think some of my favorites from the session might be of Baby E on her daddy’s Army uniform. I had never met an Army Ranger before meeting Michael, and it was so interesting to talk with him and Nicolette about what being a part of The Ranger Regiment means for their family.  Thank you, Michael (and Nicolette!), for all you sacrifice for our country!

Congratulations to you, Nicolette and Michael, on your precious baby girl! She's just adorable!

I love baby girl Shipley's full head of hair! It looks so much like her mama's!

Itty bitty baby toes are my favorite!

These two shots are favorites! You can almost feel how much Nicolette and Michael adore their baby girl and each other from these images!!

Those little cheeks!! ALL the heart eyes!

So sweet!

This little stuffed doggie holds a lot of memories for Nicolette's family! It was Nicolette's mom's as a child, and she passed it down to Nicolette when she was born! Now Nicolette has passed it down to her baby girl, and it was even at the hospital waiting to greet Baby E when she was born! I think it's safe to say that 'Muffin' is very well loved and a treasured member of the family!

This one is a favorite! I just love how Baby E is gazing up at her mommy and daddy!

So sweet!!

Baby feet in daddy's hands! This is always one of my favorite shots!
